Description

A survey of the history of the ancient roots of civilizations beginning c. 3000 B.C. at the river valleys of Mesopotamia and Egypt and ending at the fall of the Western Roman Empire, 476 A.D. The remarkable contributions of the ancient civilizations of the Near East, the Greek city-states, China, India, Subsaharan Africa, Meso-America, and of the Roman Empire will be discussed. Three hours.
