Reserve Deputies are non-paid volunteers that assist/backup full-time officers when requested. Some other duties of Reserve Deputies include cruising high traffic areas and remind motorist of the law when violations occur, frequently checking side streets, alleys and parks for people loitering or acting in a suspicious manner, serve as a deterrent to crime by patrolling small towns and residential areas that don't have full-time law enforcement, and provide security for popular county events such as area high school football and basketball games.
