~ REGISTERING YOUR VEHICLE FOR 2024-2025 ~

Welcome to Grace new and returning students!

Remember, you need to apply for a 2024-2025 permit by logging in to the portal and clicking "Add a vehicle registration" below to register your vehicle!

Returning students, your 2023-2024 registration is not valid for the 2024-2025 school year. Please register your vehicle again by clicking "Add a vehicle Registration", even if your old registration is still showing on your account, so that you can receive a new 2024-2025 permit. All 2023-2024 registrations will be removed before the beginning of the school year.

If you have any questions or concerns, reach out to Campus Safety at (574)269-5344 or campussafety@grace.edu.

YOU MUST BE SIGNED IN TO THE PORTAL TO REGISTER BELOW.

Reminder to all students:

  1. You must re-apply every Fall for a parking permit.
  2. All permits from the past school year must be destroyed.
  3. You can register your vehicle in the Vehicle Registration section above.
  4. Once you receive your permit it must be placed on the vehicle at all times while on campus.
  5. Failure to display the permit may result in a fine.

The permit goes inside the windshield on the driver's left, facing out.

If your permit is lost, defective, or has become damaged, it must be replaced within 48 hours by contacting Campus Safety for a replacement and you will be charged a $5 replacement fee.

If your permit is damaged by negligence, a replacement fee of $50 will apply. Tampering with, transferring, trading, or altering the Grace College Parking Permit in any way will result in a $100 fine as well as other disciplinary action. This action is considered fraudulent.

All vehicles must be registered through Campus Safety within 24 hours after acquiring a vehicle and must display a current Grace College parking permit while on campus at all times. Any student properly licensed and carrying insurance may own or use a motor vehicle on campus.

Registration of vehicles is solely for the purpose of identification and does not guarantee you a parking space. Parking in each lot is on a first come first serve basis. Finding a legal parking space is the driver’s responsibility.

Registration is $50 per semester. When you register your vehicle online you agree to follow all campus safety rules and regulations. Any questions concerning vehicle registration may be directed to Campus Safety at (574)269-5344 or campussafety@grace.edu

Failure to Register Vehicle  After the first citation, one 24-hour grace period will be given to allow for the vehicle to be registered. A $50 fine will be charged for failure to register a vehicle within the required time frame (within 24 hours of bringing the vehicle on campus). Further citations may occur until your vehicle is registered.

Update Registration  Registrations must be updated anytime during the school year within 24 hours of the student changing vehicles or receiving a new license plate. To update your vehicle’s registration, go to Your Registration on the Portal, click “UPDATE” next to your registration, change the necessary information, and click “Submit”.

Moving  If you are moving dorms or on/off campus and require a different permit color, go to Your Registration on the Portal and click “MOVE” next to your registration. You are required to bring your old permit to the Campus Safety Office to receive your new permit. If you cannot provide your old permit, you will be charged a $5 replacement fee.

Delete Registration  To delete your registration, click “DEL” next to the vehicle registration under Your Registration.

More than One Registration  No one is allowed to register more than one vehicle at a time except for Commuters and Staff/Faculty. You will be charged $5 for each additional registration.

Temporary Permits  If an unregistered vehicle will be in use for more than 24 hours, you are required to reach out to campus safety at (574)369-5344 or campussafety@grace.edu to receive a temporary permit. Temporary permits are only valid for one week. Temporary Permits must be properly displayed from the rearview mirror with the text displayed facing outwards.

Motorbikes, Motorcycles, Golf Carts, and Motor Scooters  These vehicles may be registered with campus safety. No permit will be issued, but the registration may be done on the portal. Operation of these vehicles is restricted to the campus streets designed for normal automobile use and must follow all vehicle regulations. These vehicles may park at the ends of parking rows where the area is marked off by white or yellow stripes, as long as they do not block a fire hydrant.

Bicycles  All bicycles should be locked up when not in use. Bicycles must only be locked to bicycle racks. Campus Safety reserves the right to cut any locks and move bicycles that are locked to trees, ornamental railings, light posts, or any other areas that are not specifically bicycle racks.

A bicycle may also be moved to a bicycle rack if:

  • It adds to congestion in a high-traffic area or near the entrance to/or inside a building
  • It is perceived to be an eyesore (not propped up, in a general state of disrepair, leaning against a tree or in the landscaping, etc.)

No bicycles are allowed to be stored in student rooms, hallways, or under stairwells.

Bicyclists must observe all traffic rules & regulations; including yielding the right of way to pedestrians, riding on the right side of the road, and observing stop signs. Please refrain from riding on sidewalks with pedestrians present.
